Session III: World History

The APWH Summer Institute offers new and experienced world history teachers essential ideas for teaching the entire College Board curriculum framework. Teachers will gain insights into how the historical thinking skills, thematic learning objectives, and key concepts fit together to prepare students for success on the exam in May. Teachers can choose sample lesson and unit plans to fit their school calendar as well as selecting appropriate selective response sets, short-answer questions, DBQ’s, and long-essay questions useful for assessing their students. A key component of the institute will be when participants will analyze sample student responses from the 2017 exam. Teachers will leave knowing how to meet all College Board audit and other requirements. Finally, a collegial atmosphere makes it easy to share ideas with other teachers.
