Session I: US Government

This workshop will allow teachers to become familiar with the AP US Government and Politics curriculum and exam structure; receive exams, lessons, and supplementary materials; design lessons, exams, and strategies to build student success; learn AP US government content; practice integrating technology into the AP US Government curriculum; and prepare for the 2018 Government and Politics rewrite.

Instructor: Jonathan Milner has taught high school social studies since 1992. He currently teaches AP US Government and Civics and Economics to high school students at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. For the past 14 years, Jonathan has worked as an AP Exam Reader and as a College Board consultant, leading weeklong and one-day workshops throughout the United States. In 2005, Jonathan founded Global Arts, an educational exchange program, bringing high school students together from the US, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Latin America, Haiti, and Africa. Jonathan is the 2002 winner of the Marcellus Wadill Excellence in Teaching Award and the 2003 recipient of the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Teacher of the Year Award.
