The summer institute for English Language and Composition focuses on two distinct aspects of the class. First, there is a full analysis of the varied portions of the exam and how these impact classroom instruction and student skill acquisition. Second, the participants spend time working with sample models used in the AP Language classroom and use these to construct lessons for their AP classrooms. Therefore, all participants have a week’s worth of tried lessons for the classroom and experience for constructing lessons throughout the school year.
