Gospel Roads III: Nicaragua
December 27th, 2016 - January 4th, 2017
Gospel Roads III: Nicaragua invites us to go deeper into service through an intensive week at an international site. For one week, participants live and work side-by-side with other college-aged young adults. They are given an opportunity to encounter Jesus Christ, and be Jesus Christ to others, through service to the young and the poor in the spirit of St. John Bosco and St. Mary Mazzarello.
The program is not just a service trip and not just a retreat. While each day focuses on service work, there are also opportunities for daily Mass and prayer, group, and individual reflections, as well as, Salesian-styled community building, recreation and fun.
The Mama Margarita Foundation was conceived after witnessing the deprivation of Nicaragua’s most forgotten residents, the children. With the help of others, like me, this foundation has already built four homes for the people in the local neighborhood. Additionally, the foundation feeds over 40 children each day.
Eligibility
- Young Adults between 18 - 25
- Have experienced a Salesian Leadership Retreat or a Salesian service experience
Registrations will open on June 30th, 2016.
Deposits are also due on June 30th
Payment can be made online or via check (Checks must be postmarked by June 30th, 2016.)

Gospel Roads will work on a first come, first serve basis. Although the deposit reserves your spot, it is not fully guaranteed until full payment of the trip is completed by November 30th, 2016.
Our numbers for Gospel Roads are very limited. The following are numbers reserved from each location:
Northeast Region - 10 participants (2 spots are for the Director and Program Coordinator)
New Orleans - 5 participants
Miami - 5 participants
Please note that we also need to balance the genders in order to stay in the facility in Nicaragua.
Waiting List
Because of the limited number of spots available, we will be opening a waiting list from each respected area. We require a $250 deposit, which is refundable, in order to secure your position on the waiting list. When there is a cancellation, we will contact you. If there are no cancellations by November 30th, 2016, you will be refunded your deposit in full.

Cancellations & Refunds
Policies and Procedures
-$250 of the deposit is NON-REFUNDABLE
(With the exception of those who remain on the waiting list.)
-All cancellations request must be made in writing and mailed to the Salesian Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministry. Refunds take 7-10 business days to process.
-Any written cancellation request received on or after August 30th, 2016 forfeits 50%of made payments.
-Any written cancellation request received on or after September 30th, 2016 forfeits 75% of made payments.
-Any written cancellation request received on or after November 30th, 2016 forfeits 100% of made payments.
