Sept. 21, 2019

Open to the Public

This 1 day introductory workshop was developed in close collaboration with long-time colleague and noted expert in the field of early childhood education Louise Derman-Sparks (author and Professor Emeritus at Pacific Oaks College). This workshop is designed for educators working in all settings including early childhood, religious education, after school programs, K-12, public and private schools, and teacher education programs at colleges and universities.

Participants will be introduced to a definition of systemic racism and begin exploring how bias and race prejudice becomes structured into schools and organizations. The 4 Goals of Anti-bias Anti-racism Education will be presented along with ways to begin applying them to educational settings.
