In this workshop designed especially for members of Christian communities, participants are introduced to the idea that racism is a systemic, institutional problem of power and presented with the concept of a structural intervention to dismantle it. It will specifically examine how racism is at play in theology, liturgical practices, and polity and an understanding of church history in Christian institutions such as the local church, denominations, parochial schools, Christian colleges & universities, seminaries, and parachurch organizations. Participants also get a sense that antiracism work does not stop with participating in a workshop; that we also have a strategic methodology to assist people in dismantling racism in their institutions. Attendance with a team from your institution is strongly encouraged.
