"Co-Workers In God's Service"

Dear Sisters and Brother in Christ,

We are called as partners in Christ’s service each and every day.  This year, as a presbytery, we will explore how we can be coworkers for the gospel, partnering with people within our congregations, with denominational partners, with organizations beyond the church, and even with our communities.  On Tuesday, February 4^th, we will gather at Rock Prairie Presbyterian Church outside of Janesville to worship, listen, reflect, and conduct business as is appropriate.  Our speaker that day will be the The Rev. Dr.  J. Herbert Nelson, the Stated Clerk of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (USA).  J. Herbert will engage us in a conversation about the ways we can be coworkers at a congregational level, with elders, deacons, ministers, and congregation members acting together for the common good.  This is a great way to start our year of presbytery meetings focusing on being coworkers, looking at how we can do this within our own congregations.

Our agenda for the day will be:

• 3:30 New Commissioner Orientation
• 4:00 Business Meeting
• 5:00 Education Time – A Conversation with J. Herbert Nelson
• 6:00 Dinner
• 7:00 Worship with Installation / Commissioning

Please invite your friends, neighbors, and fellow Presbyterians (even if they aren’t going to be voting members) to learn about how we can be coworkers in the gospel.    I look forward to seeing you on February 4^th.  May God continue to bless all of us in the work of being colleagues, free and fair.
