Understanding the Developmental Supervision Approach

This workshop meets the Supervision requirement set by the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board.

Description:

This course will examine developmental supervision models. Requirements for supervision from the ORC will be examined. Attendees will learn about ways for the supervisor to minimize risk in the supervision relationship. The importance of the supervision relationship will be highlighted. The session will look at direct and indirect liability.

Objectives:

To discuss the supervisory relationship and its importance to developing good clinicians.                            To review the ORC, ACA and NASW for ethical guidelines relative to Supervision.                                          To examine developmental models of supervision.

Presenter: Rochelle Dunn is a Licensed Clinical Counselor (LPCC-S)  for The State of Ohio and a Licensed Professional School Counselor. Rochelle has spent the past 19 years helping to develop mental health programs to be implemented by schools. Dr Dunn is a senior lecturer with The Ohio State University in the Counselor Education Program and coordinates the mental health program for Gahanna Jefferson Public Schools. Rochelle Dunn provides numerous trainings for school personnel and for practicing Counselors and Social Workers.

Training Center is approved by the Ohio Psychological Association MCE program to offer continuing education for Ohio psychologists. This program is offered for 3.0 clock hours of continuing education for psychologists. Child Focus, Inc., 00PD-3109-52668, maintains responsibility for the program.
