Increase Engagement Through Absent Narratives (Duluth - May 19, 2018)

Duluth Public Schools and the Minnesota Humanities Center are teaming up to offer Increase Engagement Through Absent Narratives in Duluth, MN. This day-long workshop provides core strategies and concepts of the Humanities Center’s approach to community engagement through absent narratives—those voices or stories often left out or marginalized.

Designed for people from backgrounds ranging from education to government to community leadership, workshop participants will exchange insights through personal stories, conversations, and guided reflections. While drawing upon their own experiences, participants will practice strategies to build relationships across culture and difference and engage others with respect and empathy.

As a part of this partnership, up to 20 Duluth Public Schools educators and staff may attend this workshop at no cost. Please contact Sung Ja at sungja@mnhum.org or William Howes at william.howes@isd709.org for more information.

If you would like to attend this workshop, but cost is a barrier to your participation, please contact us and we will find a way to support your attendance.
