For grades 1-4. This 3 lesson series introduces youth to basic concepts in coding and programing without utilizing devices and screens. A class set of Indi robots is utilized to introduce students to the language of coding. Over 3 lessons we will discover what all 8 color tiles communicate to the robots and how to speak their language through obstacle courses and activities.
Specific outcomes from youth participation include short term (basic coding and robotics information gain), mid term (increased problem solving, planning, observation, etc.) and long term (strategic thinking, abstract thought, optimizing solutions, etc.) learing.
Taught by Sedgwick County Extension staff to 1st - 4th grade classrooms. Requests for this 3 lesson series must be received 2 weeks in advance of the requested date for the first class.
