Ethics in Practice is a series developed by the Ethics Council of the New Jersey Hospice and Palliative Care Organization. This program seeks to enhance understanding of ethical issues in hospice caregiving and provide attendees with an eight-step ethical decision-making process through which interdisciplinary teams can resolve ethical issues.
The first session of this in-service, Introduction to Ethical Principles and the Ethical Decision-Making Process, gives an introduction to ethical principles and the NJHPCO Ethical Decision-Making Process. The session includes a 60-minute video featuring dramatized case studies on ethical decision-making on family issues, cultural issues, safety issues and team conflict.
