Presentation will start immediately and include dinner.
For new and intermediate level social workers. Focus on specific clinical skills based on the motivational interviewing model. Interventions will take into account patient’s resistance to change and ambivalence. Clinicians will learn how to explore the pros and cons of facing change with their patients.
Objectives:
- Recall five principles of motivational interviewing.
- Identify two strategies to help patients resolve their ambivalence about choices.
- Name two ways to handle patient’s resistance to change.
- Define and summarize four stages of change.
Attendants must attend the entire seminar and complete the evaluation form to receive Certificate of Attendance. The Certificate will be given at the end of the seminar.
