Clinical Focus on Chronic Illness and Disability

2 CEU Credit Hours.
Presentation will start immediately and include dinner.

For new and intermediate level social workers. Examines chronic illness and disability in adults and children, focusing on medical and psychosocial aspects of their condition. Clinicians will learn about clinical interventions and the social worker’s role in working with people with disabilities.

Objectives:

  • Learn two differences between chronic illness and disabilities.
  • Learn three misconceptions that the general population has about people with disabilities/chronic illness.
  • Learn three effective counseling interventions to use when working with people with disabilities.
  • Learn about five stages of adjustment for patients who have a catastrophic accident.

Attendants must attend the entire seminar and complete the evaluation form to receive Certificate of Attendance. The Certificate will be given at the end of the seminar.
