MCEE February Webinar

Michigan EconChallenge

1 SCECH available (must participate in at 3 least webinars this school year)

This webinar will provide you an overview of the Michigan EconChallenge and specific details on how to get registered and implement this opportunity in your classroom. Learn what your students can expect during the online competition and the State Finals at Walsh College in Novi on March 24th.

ONLINE QUALIFICATION OPEN UNTIL MARCH 10

Teams of four high school students compete in a series of challenging tests to demonstrate their economic understanding and reasoning skills. The Challenge matches your team’s understanding of economics with teams from other schools. Every Michigan school district will have the opportunity to hold a preliminary first round of the Challenge online. The top teams from across Michigan in the Adam Smith (AP & IB) & David Ricardo (semester regular economics) divisions will be invited to participate in a three-round State Finals competition.

The two teams with the highest scores after round three will then compete for the state title in a fast-paced “Quiz Bowl” round. The fun does not stop there! The winner of the state title will compete in an online
Regional competition April 26 with a chance to qualify for the National Finals in New York May 20-23!

Participating in at least 3 webinars before the end of the school year will qualify you for state continuing education clock hours (SCECH). Each webinar will earn you one SCECH. Total cost for SCECH will be $10 regardless of how many you earn.
