Silicon Valley, California
The Toll House Hotel in Los Gatos
& Hakone Gardens in Saratoga
Today, schools are challenged to prepare students for a rapidly changing world which requires rethinking and re-imagining school – from instruction, to physical space, to time, and spirit. To meet this challenge, school leaders must adapt ahead of the curve.
How you lead is directly related to who you are, and throughout this seminar we explore the intersection of who you are as a leader and the culture you build around you. As a school leader, are you prepared to meet the changing needs of your school and your students? What does it mean to be innovative? What conditions must exist to foster a culture of innovation in your school community?
Join The Santa Fe Leadership Center & Hillbrook School's Center for Teaching Excellence for a deep dive into innovation in school leadership. Get beyond the buzzwords and, with a cohort of curious colleagues, ask the big questions:
NOT JUST PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT, BUT "SUMMER CAMP FOR ADULTS"
"My time in Los Gatos was transformational for me as a leader; the slow kind of transformation that is lasting and empowering; not the ah-ha bling that seems powerful in the moment but fades with time and distance.Truly, every day, every opportunity, every conversation, every session, every activity, every location was an intentional piece of the whole. As I have attempted unsuccessfully to explain to many who have asked, this gathering hit every high note. In fact, it was not professional development—it was “summer camp” with a purpose. From learning about play to imagining the intersections of business practice and education, from the like-minded folks who joined in collaborative problem solving to the fabulous food to energize us, from the resources in person to the resources on-line and in print—again and again and again, you and the team over-delivered magnificently." - Trudy Hall, Head of School, Emma Willard, Participant 2012
