Bridge Jubilee - Bloody Sunday Commemoration

Join us and the Nation in the 49th Anniversary of "Bloody Sunday."

On Sunday, March 7, 1965 nonviolent marchers were beaten and trampled by horses on the Edmund-Pettus Bridge, Selma, AL. They were protesting the physical and psychological abuse of black people attempting to register to vote.   Click here to download the flyer.

On June 28, 2013, the Huff Post headlines read:

"VOTING RIGHTS ACT SECTION 4 STRUCK DOWN BY SUPREME COURT"

We cannot let the clock be turned back on Selma, Alabama and the people who died for the protection of our right to vote. As Dr. Martin L. King, Jr. and others taught and showed us nonviolence makes a democracy work.  Help us communicate to Congress our concerns to restore our voting rights protections.

JOIN US IN SELMA, ALABAMA AS WE COMMEMORATE "BLOODY SUNDAY"AND DEMAND VOTING RIGHTS PROTECTION LAWS BE REINSTATED BY CONGRESS.

Bus will depart Sunday, March 9, 2014, 6:00 a.m. (sharp) from King Center, 449 Auburn Ave., NE, and return at approximately 8:00 p.m.  Cost is $57.00 per person.  Click below to book your seat.
