 The printing industry has had a good recent run with improved profits and year-to-year growth. But what does the future hold? How will the recent election help or hinder the industry? Join Michael Makin, President and CEO of Printing Industries of America has he shares his state of the industry overview and forecasts what we might expect in 2017 and 2018. Learn what print segments are performing better than others. Get insight into the business models of profit leading companies. Receive strategic advice on managing in good and bad economic times. 

About Michael Makin was appointed President and CEO of Printing Industries of America on August 1, 2002. Born and raised in Montreal, Canada. Prior to joining PIA, Mr. Makin was President of the Canadian Printing Industries Association and for almost 10 years served as an executive with the Canadian Construction Association. He serves as Secretary to the Board of Directors of the Graphic Arts Show Corporation as well as Secretary to the Graphic Arts Educational Research Foundation. He is also President of the Printing and Graphics Scholarship Trust Fund (PGSF). In 2006 he was named a member of the Ben Franklin Honor Society and in 2016 received the Hickey Picker award from the Pacific Printing and Imaging Association. Mr. Makin is a member of the American Society of Association Executives and currently serves as Chairman of the World Print and Communications Forum, based in Brussels. 

 

 Gary A. Jones presents:

Gary Jones will educate attendees about key OSHA compliance requirements. He will address the following areas: introduction to OSHA, how to respond to an inspection, injury and illness recordkeeping, etc. 

About Gary A. Jones is the Assistant Vice President of Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Affairs at the Printing Industries of America.  His primary responsibility is to monitor and analyze EHS regulatory activities at all government levels and provide representation on behalf of the printing industry.  In doing so, Mr. Jones works closely with the federal and state-level Environmental Protection Agencies (EPA), Occupational Safety and Health Agency (OSHA), Department of Transportation (DOT), and other agencies.  He also provides membership assistance through a variety of approaches including presentations, responding to inquiries, writing, and consulting services. Mr. Jones is also heading up Printing Industries of America’s efforts for the Sustainable Green Printing Partnership, an organization dedicated to assisting printers respond to the customer demand for sustainable printing.
