  • Hilliard Lyons Select Pre-Conference Presents: The Future of Public Libraries  (Presenter: Garry Golden) Join academically trained Futurist Garry Golden for a full day workshop on how to bring new thinking back to your library about changes ahead. He will lead us in understanding how libraries can learn to anticipate changes in society and technology that might have an impact on our communities and civic institutions.
  • Building a LibraryAware Community: Bite-Sized Marketing  (Presenter: Nancy Dowd) So your strategic plan is way overdue for an update, your staff is already overworked and the idea of getting the word out about your library seems completely overwhelming. You are worried about budget cuts and frustrated that elected officials have an outdated view of your library. Have no fear; there is a way. Join Nancy Dowd, author of Bite-Sized Marketing, Realistic Solutions for Overworked Libraries for this full day workshop. You will learn strategies that will help you reach users and non-users and communicate your value with messages that matter to them.
  • Trustee Certification (various presenters) Library trustees will be able to take the five classes required for certification in the KY Public Library Certification Program all at once in this all-day pre-conference. Classes will include training on board organization, trustee and director roles, policy development, budget and finance, and advocacy.
