This 3 hour workshop will focus on characteristics of Borderline clients who are also addicted to mood altering substances. We will  review clinical techniques for working with this unique clientele.

Goal:  Develop awareness of clinical implications of the Addicted Borderline.

Objectives:

1.) Present criteria for diagnosis of borderline personality disorder and alcohol/drug dependence

2.) Discuss treatment options based on experience of what works and what does not work when treating an alcoholic or addict who also has borderline personality disorder

3.) Provide examples through case studies of successful treatment of a Borderline Addict.
