Ocean Cruising Seminar 2020

(The Ocean Cruising Seminar covers a variety of subjects associated with the planning and preparation required for an offshore passage or round the world voyage. Lecturers have been chosen for their knowledge and experience in their specialist fields. Special emphasis will be on the ARC and World ARC and what to expect in terms of weather and equipment issues, but anyone interested in offshore sailing will benefit from the weekend.

Format

The weekend will comprise a series of presentations made by industry experts, with opportunities for one-to-one discussions. A select number of companies will provide a mini exhibition of relevant equipment and services, with the opportunity to discuss insurance, liferafts and other useful issues.

There will be around 80-90 participants, and as we know there is lots of benefit in meeting fellow cruisers, lunch breaks and dinners have been arranged to facilitate mingling and discussions.

Costs

Seminar fee is £195 for one person, including breaks and meals.

Seminar fee includes lunch and dinner on Saturday and lunch on Sunday, plus breaks.

Optional hotel accommodation package available from £85 (single) or £95 (double) per room, including breakfast, if booked before 01 February. Hotel bookings made after this date may be subject to price increase, depending on availability. Accommodation must be book using seminar discount code to obtain the agreed rate.

Timings

The Ocean Cruising Seminar will begin at 8am (Coffee/registration) on Saturday 14 March, and finish around 4:30pm on Sunday 15 March.

 Terms and Conditions:

1. DATES: The Seminar will take place from 08:00 on Saturday 14 March to 16:30 on Sunday 15 March 2020 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Kingston South. Bookings made after 01 February 2020 are not guaranteed accommodation.

2. FEES: The seminar fee is £195 for one person inclusive of meals, breaks and seminar learning materials. Optional hotel package from £85 per room, per night single, and £95 per might for double occupancy, with breakfast.

3. INCLUDED: The fee includes attendance at the seminar; lecture notes; lunch, teas and coffees during designated breaks on Saturday and Sunday; dinner with wine on Saturday 14 March. Travel to and from the seminar venue is not included.

4. ACCOMMODATION: Hotel accommodation at the Crowne Plaza, Kingston South (£85/£95 per room/night inclusive breakfast) available for the nights of Friday 13, Saturday 14  and Sunday 15 March 2020, inclusive of breakfast, when booked with seminar discount code. Refer to confirmation email for booking information.

5. GUEST RATE: A guest rate will be available for spouses/partners wishing to stay in the hotel and join the Saturday night dinner, but not attend the seminar.  Please ask for details. 

6. PAYMENT: Payment must be made in full at the time of booking.  Payment can be made online by credit or debit card (via PayPal).  Cheques (checks) can be sent by post, payable to World Cruising Club Ltd.  Fees payable in Pounds Sterling.

7. REFUNDS: Refunds will be made for cancellations received by the organisers on the following schedule: 75% for cancellations received by 31/01/2020; 50% for cancellations received from 31/01 until 21/02/2020. No refunds will be made for cancellations received from 22/02/2020, or for delegates or guests who fail to attend for any reason.

8. UNUSED SERVICES: For services stated in paragraphs 3,4 and 5 above, there will be no refund for unused services.

9. ALTERATIONS TO PROGRAMME: The Organisers reserve the right to alter any aspect of the seminar programme, including content and timings, although such changes will be kept to a minimum. The provisional programme will be sent out with delegate information two weeks before the seminar.

10. CANCELLATION: In the unlikely event of the seminar being cancelled all fees paid to the Organisers will be refunded.

11. ACCEPTANCE: By making a payment, signatories are accepting these terms and conditions for both themselves and, as agent, for all members of the party shown on the booking. The Organisers reserve the right to decline any booking at their discretion.

12. TRANSLATION AND LAW: In the event of dispute over translation of the terms and conditions, or any other materials issued by the Organisers, the English language version will prevail. These Conditions shall be governed by the laws of England and the signatory agrees to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.

13. DEFINITIONS: For the purpose of the Ocean Cruising Seminar Terms and Conditions, or any other material issued by the Organisers, the following terms shall be defined as:
“The Organisers” shall refer to World Cruising Club Ltd., trading as World Cruising Club, and its employees.
“The Seminar” shall mean the Ocean Cruising Seminar of 14/15 March 2020 
“The Signatory” shall mean the person or persons booking places at the seminar, or his or her representative.
