To qualify as a Demonstration or Recognized Site for the Outdoor Classroom Project, each center must have a teacher who has completed the Outdoor Classroom Project Specialist Level I Training.
The Outdoor Classroom Project is an initiative of the Child Educational Center (CEC).

Outdoor Classroom Specialist LEVEL I Training Series
in Central California (Fresno County)

February 25th, March 18th, & April 29th
Thanks to a collaboration with the Nature Explore Program and the U.S. Forest Service, the Outdoor Classroom Project is pleased to announce that we are offering the Outdoor Classroom Project Specialist Level I Training Series in the Fresno area. This inspiring and educational training series is being offered in Central California for the first time. The training will provide early childhood professionals a unique opportunity to acquire enhanced skills for cultivating and sustaining the Outdoor Classroom at their centers. The Specialist Level I Training consists of three full day workshops on Saturdays. Each of the three workshops will be held at a different location. The first workshop will be held at Clovis Community College in Fresno. The second workshop will be held at Fresno City College and the third workshop will be held at Reedley College in Reedley.
Initiated in 2003 by the Child Educational Center, Caltech/JPL Community in Southern California with a grant from First 5 L.A., the Outdoor Classroom Project has worked with hundreds of centers and thousands of teachers. Currently there are over seventy Outdoor Classroom Project Demonstration and Recognized centers in Southern California and two Demonstration Sites in Northern California. Formal networks currently operate in Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo counties with centers in Orange, Ventura, Marin, Riverside, Santa Clara, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, San Diego, and Los Angeles counties.
