2013 BCC Registration 

Welcome to the LRGV-AIA's Building Communities Conference, the most casual and fun venue for continuing education and networking opportunities for design, planning, and construction professionals.

Where: South Padre Island Convention Centre, 7355 Padre Blvd., South Padre Island, TX.

What: Start out Thursday when we propose to tour Weslaco (founded 1921), a “typical” Lower Río Grande Valley town, to see how its 20th-century architects—R. Newell Waters, William C. Baxter, and Merle A. Simpson—interpreted and applied design trends; responded to changes in construction techniques and materials; sited buildings with respect to climate, landscape, and neighborhood; and used architecture to shape urban space. The tour will seek to identify and evaluate the ways architecture contributes to the formation of communities.

On Friday and Saturday, the Building Communities Conference and Expo attracts architects, contractors, engineers, interior designers, planners, and landscape architects from throughout the state of Texas and beyond.  Come to learn about new trends, to network, and to spend a relaxing time at the most fun conference anywhere.

Pack your shorts and flip flops, bring your family and business associates with you, and enjoy a fun filled beach weekend while you fulfill your continuing education requirements at the most enjoyable conference and trade show in a relaxed South Texas Coast atmosphere.  All registrants must register and may add one guest for an additional fee.  Full registration includes entry into all seminars, Friday's Acme Lunch, ¡Expo Fiesta!, and Shrimp Boil.  Guest registration is for spouses, significant others, children over the age of 16, and other family members and includes complimentary entry into the  ¡Expo Fiesta!, and Shrimp Boil.  It is not available for professional associates and colleagues.  

Early Registration fees will end on August 31st.  After September 1st, fees will increase by $30!

Cancellation Policy

Full refunds less a $25 administration fee will be issued if LRGV-AIA receives a request for cancellation by, August 1st.  Until September 6, cancellations are subject to a 30 percent penalty.  Registration fees become non-refundable and non-transferable after September 7.  Refunds will be processed after the conference.  Please email refund requests to info@lrgvaia.org, or mail to BCC Refunds, LRGV-AIA, 813 N Main Street, Suite 205, McAllen, TX 78501.

 Accommodations 

Room Blocks will be released August 26; Normal rates apply after the 27th.

*Additional $15.00/person for Friday and Saturday evening use of indoor Schlitterbahn park
