NWD Professional Church Workers' Conference
Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, Weston ~ October 26, 2017
Theme: "Thrive" - coming from John as he reminds us of his experience with God’s steadfast support, “I came that they may have life and have it abundantly” (John 10:10b). This conference will focus on the abundant, overflowing life given to men through Jesus. We are reminded of David’s psalm singing of the “green pastures,” and “waters of rest,” and “prepared table,” and “overflowing cup”. The day will center on Mission Development for all professional church workers.
Conference Objectives - (1) to help professional church workers meet generational ministry needs, and (2) to help church professionals have the tools to engage their community.
Fees - $30 by August 31. After 8/31 the fee will be $40. Retired workers & family members - $20. Leadership books will be handed out to all registrants. Registration will close on October 12th.
Keynote Speaker & Worship Leader - Travis Guse - He is the Mission Engagement Facilitator-Central Region-Southeast District LCMS. He will be focusing on his passion as a coach to empower people, organizations and ministries to thrive in all aspects of their life and mission for the sake of the Kingdom. Pastor Guse is also a leader of Called 2B Ministries and Thrive Initiatives Life & Executive Coach and Gallup Strengths Finder Coach. ~ Intro Video
Keynote Speaker - Justin Fung - Born and raised in Hong Kong, Justin lived in London for 8 years and Pasadena, CA for 3 years before relocating to the Washington, DC, in 2009. He is a graduate of University College London, London School of Theology, and Fuller Theological Seminary, and has worked in advocacy and faith outreach at Sojourners and ONE, as well as on a congressional campaign. Most recently, he was part of the planting team and, for seven years, one of the pastors of The District Church, where he was ordained in November 2011. Currently, Justin serves as the Pastor of Liturgy and Spiritual Formation at Christ City Church, where he is responsible for helping the congregation grow in the likeness of Christ in ways both personal and public. He also sits on the board of trustees for The Church Lab and the V3 Church Planting Network, and is a speaker for the Growing Young project. Justin lives in Washington, DC, with his wife Carolyn and their goldendoodle Asher Russell Rodgers. ~ Intro Video
