NWD Adult Gathering
The 2016 Adult Gathering will be held on Tuesday, October 18 at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Weston, WI. The cost is $20, which covers the program, break, and lunch.
Our theme is "Christian Martyrdom from Nero to ISIS”.
This exciting program includes:
- Rev. Dr. Paul L. Maier who will deliver the keynote address. He is a retired professor of Ancient History at Western Michigan University. He is the recipient of numerous awards and recognitions, and is an accomplished author – The Very First Easter and The Very First Christmas and lecturer.
- Rev. Dwayne Lueck, North Wisconsin District President, will lead our devotion.
- “Learning about and Singing Hymns” - Mark A. Schultz, Minister of Music at Trinity, Wausau, will lead us in singing some familiar hymns, as well as some written about Martyrdom in the Christian Church.
- In-gathering: Hmong ministry will be our focus. The Hmong ministries in Eau Claire and Wausau will receive our attention. Rev. David Wetmore will update us on the new Hmong ministry in Wausau. What is needed? Monetary donations (or gift cards) would be greatly appreciated (and most useful) at this time. Items needed: Asian or Jasmine rice, water, dried food, noodles, and school supplies.
