Barbeque at the Beach 2011, Raystown Lake. Welcome back to returning teams 

This is a private, special invitation to you, the teams who competed in 2010 at Barbeque at the Beach, Raystown Lake PA.

Thanks in part to your team, the inaugural Barbeque at the Beach - Raystown Lake was a phenomenal success!  We appreciate your participation, and we are extending a $50 discount for the 2011 event!  Returning teams from 2010 can register for $250 base entry fee by clicking the "Register Now!" button at the bottom of this page. You must register by July 29, 2011, otherwise you will pay the same base entry fee as new teams.

We are building on the success of the first event by involving more people in the planning, and getting an earlier start on securing sponsors.  This will hopefully translate into a BIGGER PRIZE POOL, as well as a better event for competitors and the general public.

The 2011 event will include 3 separate competitions throughout the weekend, each with cash prizes:

1. Open Grilling (Saturday): to include 3 categories - Burger, Pizza, and Dessert.  The Open Grilling competition will be judged using the KCBS procedure, but involving a mix of KCBS and celebrity judges.
2. People's Choice Charity Fundraiser (Saturday): category - Pulled Pork.  Teams will be assigned to heats of up to 6 teams, paired with a participating charity, and provided with meat to prepare and serve to the public in aluminum steam trays.  The public will buy tickets from the event and receive all of the samples from one heat per ticket, served in a half-dozen egg carton.  Winners will be determined by public balloting.  One-third of the funds raised will be allotted to the competition prize pool, one-third to participating charities, and one-third to cover the cost of the event.  Cash prizes will be awarded to the winner from each heat, a reserve grand champion, and a grand champion.
   
3. Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS) Sanctioned (Sunday): to include 4 categories - Ribs, Chicken, Pork, and Brisket.  The KCBS competition will be judged following all KCBS rules and regulations.

We had so much fun meeting and interacting with you last year.  Your early commitment to returning to compete will help us make sure that we can retain our STATE CHAMPIONSHIP status, and will help us in our efforts to solicit much needed sponsorships.

Liability waiver: Barbeque at the Beach (herein known as the event), Huntingdon County Visitors Bureau (herein known as the event host & facilitator, HCVB), Penn Township, Huntingdon County government, United States Army Corps of Engineers, event exhibitors, event sponsors, boards and officers of the organizations represented at the event, HCVB staff and organization members and/or associated businesses affiliated or not affiliated with the event, HCVB advertisers, event judges and the event contestants, including parents and/or legal representatives, agree that the event sponsors, event host, and Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS) will in no case be responsible for any loss or damage, regardless of how much loss, damage, or injury is occasioned, and agree to indemnify and hold harmless the event sponsors, event host, KCBS and others named above from any and all claims, suits, judgments including the cost of defense of any claim arising from such action against the event sponsor, event host, or KCBS.

Furthermore, I hereby grant full permission to the event sponsors, event host, and KCBS and/or their agents to use any photographs, videotape, or any other record of this event for legitimate purposes.
