2014 CDP North America Climate Change Leadership Celebration Cocktail Reception



Join CDP and NAEM for a complimentary evening cocktail reception to celebrate the highest performing North American companies reporting to CDP in 2014. 

The reception will feature remarks from Deb Geyer, the Vice President of Environment Health and Safety for Stanley Black & Decker, Inc, and Carol Singer Neuvelt, the Executive Director for NAEM. It will also include updates and information about CDP's ongoing work to drive corporate carbon emissions reductions in North America.

Cocktails and hors d'oeuvres will be served.

Deb Geyer, Vice President of Environmental Health & Safety, Stanley Black & Decker

As the Vice President of Environment Health & Safety (EHS) for Stanley Black & Decker, Deb’s primary role involves establishing and executing on the company’s global EHS and Sustainability strategy, establishing long-term commitments, ensuring EHS and Sustainability excellence, and transparency. Her vision is to create a company-wide sustainability culture which engineers waste out of the processes before it is generated, minimizes energy and water consumption on the design table, and empowers employees to create the solutions. Under her leadership as the environmental champion, she established annual energy conservation targets across the company’s operational footprint and validated a 46% normalized emission reduction between 2008 and 2012. Her business and regional leaders are now focused on fulfilling Stanley Black & Decker’s 2013 commitment to further reduce their emissions, energy consumption, water usage, and waste generation an additional 15% by 2015. 

In addition to helping secure Stanley Black & Decker as a Sustainability Leader on the 2014 North America Dow Jones Sustainability Index, her goal to also secure the $11B company’s placement on the CDP S&P 500 Climate Disclosure Leadership Index and the CDP S&P 500 Climate Performance Leadership Index was achieved in 2014.  Stanley Black & Decker received the highest attainable score in 2014 from CDP, consisting of the highest band of “A” for their climate performance assessment and a 100 for their climate disclosure assessment.
