LGBTQ Competency Training
The North County Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Questioning (LGBTQ) Resource Center training is a 2-hour workshop that promotes safety, inclusion and wellbeing for LGBTQ patients, employees and clients in general.
Well-trained staff that effectively implement LGBTQ and gender inclusive practices are the foundation of a safe work environment, and it is of a great advantage to the population we serve. Creating a more accepting, inclusive, and diverse work environment teaches people how to recognize and resist stereotypes.
The North County LGBTQ Resource Center has created training and tools for educators, social workers, mental health providers and service providers in general with the following objectives in mind:
Speaker bio: Max Disposti is the founder and Executive Director of the North County LGBTQ Resource Center. He has given presentations throughout the San Diego County School Districts, to Mental Health Providers, hospitals, colleges, Social Service workers, Women Resource Centers, police and law enforcement offices, and other non-profit organizations. In addition to his Executive role with the Resource Center, Max is active in the San Diego community at large and the State of California Board of Behavioral Science where he advocates for reducing the gaps and increase access to mental health.
