Understanding Domestic Violence
Domestic Violence (also known as Intimate Partner Abuse) is a significant public health and safety concern. In this workshop you will learn the dynamics of power and control that constitute abusive relationships, and we will correct several common misconceptions. We will discuss some of the behaviors and survival strategies used by victims of abuse as well as barriers to them accessing safety. Finally we’ll highlight some important crisis intervention skills in working with survivors of intimate partner abuse.
