1st Annual Maryland PTA Emerging Leaders Conference

Maryland PTA reinforces its commitment to strengthen diversity and leadership! Maryland PTA EML trains new PTA, school and community leaders in diverse populations to effectively advocate for their students. Leaders will learn how to engage ethnically diverse families and underserved school populations through various workshops and bridge building.

The Maryland PTA Emerging Minority Leaders (EML) Conference will be held the day before the Maryland PTA Convention, July 11-12, 2014. Attendees at both events will network with more than 300 PTA members, partners and diversity leaders throughout Maryland.

Our Keynote Speaker will be Maryland State Delegate Joseline Pena-Melnyk. She will be joined by a panel of guest speakers: Maritza E. Gonzalez and Jennifer Love from Prince George's County Public Schools, Laura Gardner from Anne Arundel Public Schools, Karla Jenkins from Baltimore City Office of Family and Community Engagement, and Young-Chan Han from Maryland State Department of Education.
