Mariell Jessup, National President of the American Heart Association and Kim A. Williams, National President-Elect of the American College of Cardiology. Topics chosen for this program are designed to provide updates and adress current controversies in the detection, treatment, management and prevention of cardiovascular disease (CVD) and concomitant conditions. Our 2014 agenda features keynote presentations on Diet and CV Disease and Advances in the Treatment of Heart Failure. Topics include: Treatment of Lipid Disorders; New Guidelines for the Management of CVD (Lipids, Anticoagulation, Hypertension); Obesity and CVD (Diabetes, Hypertriglyceridemia, Sleep Apnea); Assessing CV Risk (Risk Calculators, Calcium Scoring and Vascular Imaging); Advances in CT Surgery; Radial Access for STEMI; Dual Antiplatelet Therapy. The program concludes with interactive clinical case presentations on Syncope, Diet Recommendations for CVD patients, Evaluating the Older Athlete and the Role of Home Healthcare in Managing CVD. Our goal is to provide attendees with the most up-tp-date, relevant clinical information on prevention, detection and treatment of CVD. Integrating this information into clinical practice will improve care and outcomes in patients with or at risk for CVD.
