Cathedral of the Sacred Heart Pre-Cana 

Pre-Cana – What is it?

“On the threshold of his public life Jesus performs his first sign - at his mother's request - during a wedding feast. (John 2, 1-11) The Church attaches great importance to Jesus' presence at the wedding at Cana.  She sees in it the confirmation of the goodness of marriage and the proclamation that thenceforth marriage will be an efficacious sign of Christ's presence.”  (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1613)

 Pre-Cana is an opportunity for engaged couples to prepare for the Sacrament of Matrimony.  They will learn about the beauty of Marriage as a sacrament and about how they can be an efficacious sign of Christ’s presence to each other, to their future children and to those around them.

 

What can we expect?

Presentations given by couples who will share the beauty of the Catholic Church’s teaching on the... the Sacrament of Marriage, Marriage as a Gift of Self, Intimacy and Children and Natural Family Planning

• Specific “how to” ideas from truly vibrant married couples
• Time to discuss the topics and reflect on how they apply to you
• Suggestions for nurturing your faith
• An opportunity to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation and attend Mass
• Learn to improve in areas such as communication, financial planning and spirituality
• Lunch and refreshments served at the Pre-Cana Program are included in the cost

 

When is it?

Saturday, September 24, 2016 at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart (360 Main Street, Winona, MN 55987).

From 9:00am – 6:30pm.  Registration begins at 8:30am
