Centering Prayer is a method of silent prayer that prepares us to receive the gift of contemplative prayer in which we experience God's presence within us. Centering Prayer is a path to personal transformation.The Introductory Workshop and five Continuing Sessions support a daily practice as taught by Father Thomas Keating.

"..But when you pray, go to your inner room, close the door and pray to your Father in secret. And your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you." Matthew 6:6

The Introductory Program is designed for those new to Centering Prayer or for those who want to become more familiar with the theological background and concepts of this prayer form. The Introductory Workshop is on Saturday, September 19, from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM. The cost of the workshop is $25 which includes five continuing sessions and the book, Forty Days to a Closer Walk with God. The continuing five sessions wlll be at Christ Church on Monday evenings from 5:30-7:00 beginning September 21. Alternate times will be considered. Carol Lewis and Storne Shively will facilitate the continuing sessions.
