Kathy Becker, Mainstream Nonprofit Solutions

Kathy A. Becker, current Senior Director for Nonprofit Solutions, Inc., (NSI) is a highly dedicated and motivated individual with a vast knowledge in all aspects of nonprofit management. Kathy graduated from University of Missouri, Columbia, Missouri with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture in 1987. She has since graduated from William Woods University, Fulton, Missouri with and MBA in 2013. Currently, Kathy is a member of the National Alliance Cohort for Residential Transformation, and has previously been a board member for the Kingdom of Callaway Chamber of Commerce. Kathy has directed multiple programs and participated in many volunteer and community activities, such as being a board member for the New Bloomfield RIII School District and the secretary/treasurer for the Missouri Coalition of Children's Agencies.
 
Kathy is skilled in program development, relationship building, strategic planning and organizational management. Of her years as a director, many of her accomplishments include: Researching new opportunities and writing applications for and grants as well as working with staff, board and stakeholders to receive and maintain national accreditation. Some other great successes over her years of hard work include producing a 41% increase in giving to the general fund of the Missouri Girls Town Foundation, Inc. Kingdom City, Missouri; as well as being responsible for raising 64% of Chapter's budget for Mid-Missouri Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association, Columbia, Missouri.

 

Deanna Colahan, Mainstream Nonprofit Solutions

Deanna Colahan is a hardworking adoptive parent and previous foster parent. Graduating from Washburn University in 1994 with a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Deanna continued on to start her career in child care as a Special Education Para for elementary children with autism and behavioral/emotional disorders in 2006. Currently, she is a part of Open Heart Outreach, Owner/Operator of Little Oaks daycare and is a member of Kansas Adoptive Advisory Council, (KAAC). As a former foster parent and takes pride in having a strong desire to support families who are on a hard road as they try to do what's best for the children.
As an advocate for foster parent and children's rights, Deanna writes that she is committed to helping people in her community regardless of their needs. Her family's goal is to not judge them or their situation but to give them respect and let them know that they matter. Her passions include being an adoptive parent, community resource and recognizing behaviors and knowing why they are presenting at certain times. In Deanna's own words, "I know what it's like to long for advice and wish for just one person that would just listen but understand what we were experiencing in our journey".
Who Should Attend?
Childcare staff, supervisors and foster parents who work in programs which contract with the Oregon Dept. of Human Services Child Welfare Division. This includes Behavioral Rehabilitation Service Programs, Proctor Foster Parents and Staff, Runaway and Homeless Youth Shelters.

 Important Information:
A follow up email survey will be sent out following the training. Your response is required.
Class sizes are limited to 30, first come first serve on registration. 
 Watch for "wait lists" which may be posted.
