There is a time for each of us, when we ask if we are living from the rich well of own wisdom and self-direction, or simply as the sum of expectations that our family, history, culture or religion places on us. We question what drives us, our guilt, our sense of obligation, the safety of wealth, unaccomplished hopes, personal ambitions, altruism or our soul. The answers tell us if we are living on the surface of possibilities, or if we’re courageously harnessing our own unique spiritual and personal gifts and dreams.

This August, Jean Houston shares an unprecedented weekend of exploration of what life can be like Beyond the Margins of our predictable life. She will, with the deftness of an expert, unwrap the limitations of living, and introduce you to a seldom-visited world of possibilities. You’ll quickly understand the hallmarks of an authentic life versus a proscribed life and how these choices impact your sense of well being, meaning and destiny.

Through her teaching, she will share her over 50 years of experience on how some of the greatest change agents of history discovered their own depths and learned to express them, how international spiritual and political leaders maintain their connection to their purpose, and the latest science on how to synchronize your mind, intention, visions and actions for not only a rewarding, but a fascinating life.

During this weekend, you will learn:

  • How to identify the subtle levels of conditioning that are influencing your life.
  • The five pathways spiritual masters use to remain open to their own depths.
  • How to use archetypes to open up new options in every situation.
  • How to distinguish personal versus conditioned motivation for decisions.
  • How to become more available to the creativity, synchronicity and possibilities around you.
  • How to utilize resources from both the seen and unseen worlds.
  • How to refine your capacity to both receive and originate new ideas.
  • How to discover an unshakeable Center of Being.
  • How to refine attunement and empathy to others.
  • How to see and act from beyond your own personal identity.
  • The latest scientific discoveries about your own latent creative powers

Special Sunday Bonus Session: How to turn your gifts into beneficent action!

You’ll walk away with new practices to maintain the training, as well as a new perspective on your life, its remarkable power and spheres of creativity that are just waiting to be released.

Weekend Schedule

LIVING BEYOND THE MARGINS: Creating a new world of possibilities may be attended as either a residential or day program. If you would like to maximize the learning experience, then live with us for the weekend on the campus of EarthRise Retreat Center in beautiful Petaluma, California. You may choose to room with another student or have a private room. The rolling hills and grazing wild deer offer a quiet, meditative backdrop for studying, meditation and integration. Since the classes extend until 10-10:30 each evening, many choose to room on campus and maintain the energy that is established each day.

Students do need to be present for the entire program. Drop-in participation is not available since a strong sense of community is formed during the gathering.

This is a sensory-rich training so that you absorb the information you choose, on many levels of perception.
