Drive In Dinner
Help us replace our van! On Feb 20, while our youth were going to a retreat, fire broke out. No one was hurt but the van was destroyed. Field Trip to Fire Station
Field and Service trips are an important part of Youth Community Explosion. The fire fighters of Fire Station One in Starkville were terrific hosts for a recent field trip.
Prayer at City Hall
One day before the van fire, our staff prayed at City Hall. While we were there, the fire alarm sounded and before long, a fire truck arrived to investigate. Once the building was cleared, this fireman joined us for about 15 minutes of prayer time.
And then the fire...
And then, this happened. It was an old van, nothing to write home about, but it was ours. And it was pretty traumatic to jump from it as it flamed, and to watch it be completely destroyed.
But a little fire couldn't keep us down...
As soon as the ministry director arrived, we loaded up and continued on for a wonderful day together. Laughter and fun was good medicine for traumatized kids -- and adults!
