The Benefits of Establishing a Business Foundation for Charitable Giving
Summary
Some think you need to be a large employer with multi-million dollars in revenue to set-up a business foundation. To the contrary, businesses of all sizes are establishing business foundations for many reasons, including both employee and client retention. This session will discuss the benefits, process, and compliance requirements of establishing a business foundation and is a perfectly timed follow-up session from February’s Member Meeting on the nonprofit’s role in our economy.

Biography
Tom Moniz is a Shareholder in the Business Practice Group, where he assists clients on all aspects of business and estate planning including:

Tom especially enjoys working collaboratively and strategically with clients and their team of other trusted advisors – an approach that he believes adds value now and for successive generations.
Additionally, Tom is the Chair of the firm’s Nonprofit and Tax Exemption section. Tom counsels clients on a variety of matters including tax exemption, nonprofit formation and governance, and Benefit Corporations.

Biography
Adam Skarie is a Shareholder in the Business Practice Group. Adam works closely with businesses, manufacturers and executives to identify their goals while minimizing risk. He enjoys and focuses on collaborating with his clients’ other trusted advisors, including accountants and financial advisors, to bring a holistic approach to meeting client needs. Adam focuses his law practice by assisting clients in the areas of:
