ENGAGE - Building Teams & Developing Employees for the Future

Session 1
Time: 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM
Topic: Creating & Leading Accountable Teams
Eligible for 1 CPE Credit

Session Summary & Learning Objectives
In this session Eric will challenge your assumptions around both accountability and teams. To begin with the notion of holding someone accountable is actually a misnomer. He will also make a case that most teams inside organizations don't really function like teams  rather they are group of individuals with different accountabilities and are focused primarily on the leader.

The goal of this presentation is to help you understand what differentiates most teams, that aren't really teams, from the few that are actually functional, from the precious few that are truly accountable. Eric will then demonstrate what is required to progress your team across this continuum by showing you how to get your team members comfortable saying what they really feel and deal with their real issues together.

Panel Discussion Summary & Learning Objectives
During the last fourteen months, we have all experienced a significant change in how we conduct business, socialize, collaborate, pursue professional development, and lead our employees and peers towards their development. The pandemic forced most of us to transform our traditional work environments to makeshift home offices and adapt as best as possible to constantly changing situations, driving a change in how leaders recruit, interview, onboard, collaborate, celebrate and develop.

Each business is adapting to its unique challenges. Organizations transformed from 100% onsite environments to 100% remote environments. Now that the vaccine is creating confidence in people’s health and well-being, only a small percentage of employees’ desire to work 100% remotely, and a small percentage of employees want to return to work 100% onsite. Most employees want the flexibility to be partially remote.

The onsite, remote flexibility creates a whole new dynamic for leaders. Our objective is to learn and be inspired by our panel's leadership and creativity on how they have and continue to adapt in a constantly changing world.
