Session 3: 11:00 AM - 12:05 PM
Topic: Interviewing Skills
Presenter: Gina Glover Right Management

Topic Summary: Interviewing skills are not something we often think about until we find ourselves in an active job search. Yet these days, where corporate down-sizing and restructuring are terms that are just as prevalent as consulting and business development, we need to remember that brushing up on these skills even when we don't necessarily need them (yet) is simply good career management.

In this session, Gina Glover, a Career Management Consultant with Right Management, will provide insight into behavioral-based interviewing skills, share the top interview questions asked by employers today and review the best approach for responding to these types of questions. Additionally, attendees of this session will gain an understanding of pre-interview skills, appropriate etiquette for the interview and effective follow up techniques for after the interview has concluded. Prepare to be engaged and actively participating in this session.

Optional Lunch: 12:05 – 1:00 PM

Mike's 360° view of the search and recruiting process comes from hands-on experience on both sides of the desk. He began his career in corporate human resources, then moved into sales and marketing before initiating his search career in 1987. With a focus on executive and management level positions in various industries, he has a market-leading completion rate. Gina Glover

Career Management Consultant – Right Management

A candidate’s career search involves a plethora of tasks, many of which a candidate has not done in years or, in some cases, has never done before. These tasks include identifying strengths and transferrable skills, crafting a “stand out” resume, writing memorable cover letters, negotiating salary and benefits and evaluating offers.  In her role at Right Management, Gina assists candidates with all of these tasks and more including one of the more stress-inducing components of their job search – the interview. Gina assists candidates in the process of determining which questions are most likely to be asked in an interview based on the position’s description and works with candidates to develop responses that specifically demonstrate the candidate’s abilities and experiences.

Gina has her B.S. degree in Printing Management from Ferris State University and has led a diverse 20-year career in the Fox Valley including roles in sales, e-commerce management, SAP implementation, product development, and marketing communications. She has served on the boards of the Sales and Marketing Professionals of Northeast Wisconsin (SMPNEW), and the Fox Valley Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM), and is currently the VP of Programs for Mid-Day Women’s Alliance, a member of the Regional Planning Committee of Girl Scouts of the Northwestern Great Lakes as well as a Cadette Troop Leader. She is a member of NEW Appleton Toastmasters and MDWA Toastmasters and has just recently achieved her Advanced Communicator Gold award through Toastmasters International. Additionally, Gina started her own business in August 2014, Creative Connections of the Fox Valley, to provide marketing and sales support to small businesses and non-profit organizations in the area.
