Sport Medicine Conditions & Terminology for Acupuncturists

 Presented in association with the BC Sports Acupuncture Association www.SportsAcupuncture.org

Designed for the Sports Acupuncturist or those interested in the field of Sports Acupuncture to deepen knowledge of common Sport Medicine and Athletic Injury conditions.

 Course Objectives:

  • Review of relevant anatomy and biomechanics
  • Understand and recognize clinical sports medicine terminology and conditions
  • Develop better communication with sports medicine professionals

Topics Covered in this one-day workshop:

  • Brief intro to injury assessment 
  • Overview of relevant anatomy and biomechanics
  • Common sport injury conditions 

This course is a required course in order to become an Accredited Sports Acupuncturist with the BC Sports Acupuncture Association.

Ian Dunsmuir, BSc(Kin), R.Ac., is Registered Acupuncturist and co-founder and Co-Director of the BC Sports Acupuncture Association.  Ian's extensive experience in Sport Medicine began in his Kinesiology degree as a student trainer for a local semi-professional lacrosse team.  Today, his experience extends to include being trusted by the BC Lions, Vancouver Whitecaps and Vancouver Stealth.  Ian is also one  of the instructors of Matt Callison's Sport Medicine Acupuncture.  Ian was the head Acupuncturist for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic games.

Withdrawal Policy: 
For course withdrawals submitted in writing or in person 30 days or more before the start of the course, registrants will receive a full tuition refund less a $50 nonrefundable registration fee. For course withdrawals submitted in writing or in person more than 14 days but less than 30 days before the start of the course, registrants will receive a 50% tuition refund. Without exception, no refunds will be given for course withdrawals less than 14 days before the start of the course, and after the course begins.
