A collaboration of Sharon Audubon, Bushnell-Sage Library, Oliver Wolcott Library and the Scoville Memorial Library
Artist Leslie Watkins presents an overview of nature studies using watercolors. This session will focus on the familiar Downy Woodpecker with notes on artistic bird anatomy and useful art materials. Watkins will provide painting instruction while demonstrating, followed by Q&A and critiques for those who wish to share their paintings. Suitable for beginners to advanced students.
Dr. Eileen Fielding, Sharon Audubon Center Director, will provide a brief natural history of woodpeckers, featuring our colorful local species, their particular specialties, amazing anatomy, and their importance to the forest.
