Museum of Alabama Guide Training

September 22 from 8:30 to 4:30 at the Archives 

The Alabama Department of Archives and History is seeking volunteer museum guides to lead tours of its award-winning Museum of Alabama.  Every year, thousands of students and visitors from around the world tour the museum. Volunteers are needed to lead student and adult tours in the fall of 2017 and spring of 2018. Flexible schedules are available.

Museum Guide Qualifications & Requirements:

• Good communication skills
• Ability to work well with people of all ages
• An interest in teaching others
• Ability to stand and walk for minimally one hour at a time
• Ability to climb multiple flights of stairs
• Able to lift up to 25lbs
• A background check will be performed on all prospective volunteers 

  Prospective guides must attend the training session on September 22.  Advance registration is required. Click the button below to register.
