A conference to network the regional business community

The Addison County Relocalization Network (ACORN) and the Addison County Economic Development Corporation (ACEDC) are pleased to announce a local money conference for networking food, agriculture, and forestry businesses and entrepreneurs with regional capital providers and business service providers.

Financing the Working Landscape aims to:

  • Introduce entrepreneurs to local capital providers and business service providers
  • Educate business owners and entrepreneurs about how to prepare for capitalization
  • Catalyze opportunities for all participants through networking and "elevator" pitches

The conference will include keynote speaker Mike Pieciak, Deputy Commissioner of the VT Department of Financial Regulation, an Entrepreneurs Showcase, a Challenge Presentation (expert feedback on a specific business challenge presented by a business owner), numerous business experts, and networking oppurtunities throughout the day.

Conference Schedule

8:30 - 9 a.m. - Registration 


9 - 9:20 a.m. - Welcome and Introductions

 

9:20 - 10:15 a.m. - 2 Break-out Sessions

  • Businesses and those considering a loan or funding of less than $50,000 will hear from and ask questions of a panel of relevant funders and industry leaders
  • Businesses and those considering funding of $50,000 or more will hear from and ask questions of a panel of relevant funders and industry leaders

10:15 - 10:45 a.m. - Networking and Break


10:45 a.m. - 12 p.m. - Challenge Presentations

  • 3 seven minute presentations of a particular obstacle that an entrepreneur is facing, followed by coaching and suggested approaches from a panel of experts

12 - 12:45 p.m. - Local Foods Lunch

  • Locally sourced food produced by the culinary arts students from the Hannaford Career Center's Glass Onion Restaurant

12:45 - 1:30 p.m. - Keynote Speaker


1:30 - 2 p.m. - Entrepreneur Showcases

  • 3 five minute pitches from selected entrepreneurs, followed by Q&A from the audience

2 - 2:30 p.m. Case Studies - A success story: How I did it!

  • A successful entrepreneur will tell their story and answer questions from the audience

2:30 p.m. - Adjourn

 

There will several opportunities for networking throughout the day. Entrepreneurs are encouraged to bring information that will help capital and service providers get to know them better.
