DMEK Instructor: Bryan Lusk, MD

Specialty: DMEK, DSAEK, Corneal Transplants, Cataract Surgery and Lasik

Dr. Lusk is the leading DMEK surgeon in Louisiana.  Dr. Lusk’s experience with endothelial keratoplasty began in 2009 as a resident at Georgetown University Hospital where he performed his first DSAEK under staff supervision.  He presented an abstract at ARVO comparing results between DSAEK and PKP.  In 2010 Dr. Lusk began his cornea fellowship under Dr. William Barry Lee in Atlanta, GA where he performed hundreds of corneal transplants as well as cataract surgeries with his cornea attendings.  He became an eye bank medical director directly out of fellowship and joined his fathers ophthalmology practice in Louisiana.  Following in his father’s footsteps, Dr. James Lusk, he unselfishly gives his time and support as the Medical Director of the ISR Eye Bank Louisiana. He helped implement the SCUBA preparation technique for donor tissue at the eye bank and continues to work with the eye bank to improve and develop novel corneal transplantation techniques.
