Writing Matters!

Full Day Workshop with William Van Cleave

Saturday, April 13, 2019

 

In order to succeed in coursework as well as on various assessments, students must have an understanding of basic and expanded paragraphs. Participants in this workshop learn a structured, sequential approach to teaching the basic and expanded paragraph, including idea generation, categorization, and writing topic, supporting, and concluding sentences as well as transitions. They work with gradual release instruction and teacher modeling of the writing process. 
 
Foundational Writing with Syntax in the A.M.
Foundational Paragraph Skills  in the P.M.

Registration fee includes:

  • Workshop Presentation by William Van Cleave
  • Book, Writing Matters, which contains research-based lessons that are sequenced by skill, (a $58.00 value).  
  • Light breakfast

*Lunch will be on your own from 12:00 to 1:00 pm.  There are many quick places to eat at the Waterfront and Door Dash services can be used.
