Emergency Certified Substitute Teacher and/or Support Substitute Renewal

Thank you for your service as a substitute for the Guest Teacher (Emergency Certified) and/or Support Substitute Program in IU13 and/or the school districts of Lancaster and Lebanon counties!

EMERGENCY CERTIFIED SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS:  Your day-to-day substitute emergency permit is valid for one year, and will expire on July 31, 2018.  Your emergency permit must be renewed if you wish to continue as a substitute teacher.  Please read these instructions carefully and complete the required items in their entirety.  IU13 will process the renewal of emergency permits in the order renewal items are received until August 15, 2018.   Completing your renewal paperwork prior to July 20th should allow ample time for your permit to be processed by the beginning of the school year.

NOTE:  Any renewal paperwork received after August 15, 2018, will require substitutes to provide updated paperwork, including clearances, physical, TB test in order to renew the emergency permit.

• Complete the online EMERGENCY PERMIT APPLICATION for the 2018-19 school year using PDE's Teacher Information Management System (TIMS) accessed through Internet Explorer or Firefox. • Complete the 2018-19 Guest Teacher/Substitute Preference Form by selecting the option below.  Please be advised that if you did not work in a district during the 2017-18 school year, you should submit new clearances, physical, and TB test to be eligible to substitute for that district during the 2018-19 school year.  Any updated paperwork should be submitted to IU13 Human Resources Services.

• Submit your $20 Non-refundable Renewal Fee.  Payment is acceptable via credit using PayPal (PayPal account is not required).  Please follow the instructions provided on the preference form to submit your renewal fee.  NOTE:  There is only one non-refundable renewal fee whether you renew to substitute in school district(s) and/or IU13.
