Professional Applicator Development 

This course is a development program for the inexperienced applicator.  The program provides safety training and the basics of agronomy, equipment function and maintenance, and trains the candidate to obtain an applicator license. The North Dakota Department of  Agriculture will give the commercial applicator exam on the final course day.

Professional Applicator Development is a four-day training course. Session starts at 8:00 AM the first day with check-in beginning at 7:30 AM.

Agenda topics include:

  • Day 1: Safety training, becoming a professional applicator, pest mangement, spray drift
  • Day 2: Applicator math, basic weed ID, crop staging, factors affecting performance of post-applied, sprayer cleaning, tank contamination, pesticides and the environment, pesticide laws             
  • Day 3: Record keeping, DOT/State Patrol, equipment classroom and shop (Case IH), equipment maintenance, controllers
  • Day 4: Commercial Applicator exam

Course Cost:  $995 – includes continental breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack daily as well as course materials and manuals. Attendees are on their own for dinner and hotel accommodations. A $200 discount per day will be applied for days not attended.

Land O'Lakes cooperatives will be invoiced post-training. If you are not affiliated with Land O'Lakes, full check payment is due upon check-in. Please make checks payable to Land O'Lakes.
