Open Metal Design Studio
As a benefit of enrollment in our metals program, current students are able to come in and work during our open studio hours currently scheduled for Wednesday evenings from 6:00pm until 8:30pm.
Metalsmithing Basics
Tuesdays 6:00pm - 8:30pm
“I made it myself!” That’s what you’ll tell friends when they ask about the unique piece of jewelry you’re wearing. Learn metalsmithing techniques such as sawing, filing, soldering, and riveting to make a variety of projects. First-time participants will make a bracelet that involves all of these basic methods. Returning participants will work with the instructor to problem solve, refine their basic skills, and explore more advanced techniques such as enameling, etching, using alternative materials, and stone setting. [Min. 6, Max 7]
Tuesday Instructor: Lisette Fee
Supplies are included with the exception of fine metals, such as silver, that students may wish to use in class.
