Dr. Connie Book!
Connie Book serves as the ninth president of Elon University. She was named Elon University’s first female president after serving as the provost of The Citadel, the Military College of South Carolina. She previously served 16 years as an Elon senior administrator and faculty member.
Book has played a major role in the growth of Elon University. She is well recognized for her presence in Elon’s strategic planning, re-design of careers services, the advancements in Elon’s Study USA programs, and much more. Her service to The Citadel led her to be the highest-ranking female leader at the institution.
Book has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Louisiana State University. She received her master’s in education administration and supervision from Northwestern State University, and a doctorate from the Grady College of Journalism at the University of Georgia.
Connie Book is a prominent member in the university and the town of Elon. Along with her many accomplishments, she is a dedicated community member and educator. To hear more about Book and her story, join us at our February Working Women’s Wednesday. You won’t want to miss it!
