Johanna joined Lone Oak Fund in 2008 and is the company’s senior underwriter and head of the origination department. In addition to having underwritten close to $1 Billion in first trust deeds, Johanna directs the department’s business operations and has spearheaded the development of Lone Oak Fund’s proprietary origination software.

Jim has been with Redwood for 15 years and has been in commercial real estate over 40 years. He entered real estate in the mid 70’s at Kaiser Aetna developing business parks. In the 80’s, he was a Senior VP at Harbor Bay in Alameda, responsible for all operations and the 300-acre business park. In the mid 90’s, he started an 8-year stint as the Director of Real Estate for Heald Colleges, closing over $150 million in transactions, including a $28 million sale-leaseback. For Redwood Mortgage, he has closed over $200 million in loans.

A CCIM since 1987, Don’s extensive experience in residential sales, commercial and investment sales/leasing/exchanges, title insurance practice and procedure, and privately funded loan originations uniquely positions him to provide the highest level of service to the commercial and investment brokerage community. Don serves on the Board of Directors of the California Mortgage Association, a trade association for lenders of privately funded loans. Don is a past president of NCalCCIM.

Jack Catton has been with US Bank for 34 years and currently serves as Vice President and Business Banking District Sales Manager. He received a work/college scholarship from US Bank and while attending Willamette University for a BA in Business Economics, he trained in all the consumer and commercial banking functions at US Bank. Jack has held 13 positions with the bank during that time in Oregon, Washington and California. Jack serves on the Working Solutions loan committee and just completed a 10 term as board member and past president of Diablo Ballet for which he received the 2017 Contra Costa Arts and Culture Commission recognition award.

1031 Exchanges and the new tax law
The March Mentoring Session will focus on 1031 Exchanges after the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017. Guest Speaker Teresa (Moss) Fluegel will provide an update on the impact of the new tax law. She will also describe how to structure a Forward and Reverse Mortgage.
Teresa joined CDEC in 2000 and is responsible for providing consulting services to real estate and tax attorneys, accountants, investors and commercial real estate professionals. Teresa has participated in several panel discussions including the California Real Property Retreat and at UC Berkeley. She is a co-founder of the monthly Real Estate Advice Seminar Series provided to commercial real estate professionals, investors and advisors. Teresa holds the Certified Exchange Specialist® designation and is actively involved in a number of professional organizations including NAIOP, SIOR and CCIM. Teresa currently is Immediate Past President of CREW East Bay.
