Introduction to Knitting

Have you always wanted to learn to knit …?

Here is your chance!  In this three hour workshop, learn to cast on, knit, purl and cast off.  There will be time to begin a project to finish at home, so bring a yarn you’ve always wanted to make a scarf from. 

Participants will be encouraged to join us again at an Open Studio session to solve any “tangles” that might have come up and discuss other finishing techniques. 

A $5 materials fee will be charged for knitting needles and yarn with which to practice and keep. 

Our promise to you?

'some things looming' will NEVER cancel a 'sampler' due to low class registration.  What does that mean to you?  It means you can absolutely put this class in permanent ink on your calendar. 

We've heard the frustration where a favorite class got cancelled on you at the last minute.  We want you to know, know, know that isn't going to happen here.

Will it be awkward if I'm the only one there?  Oh. My. No!  We'll just have great fun with a little one on one time.  Ask around.  It's happened from time to time.

Not good at planning? Don't have a lot of free time?   We designed 'saturday samplers' for you.  You can save a little if you plan, but you don't have to.  If a class is popular, you might not make it in due to class size.  Coming early for a class or calling on Saturday morning to secure your spot is a great idea.  Popular classes will most likely have a second session on the same day so you should always assume you have a good shot at getting what you want.

Class Fee:  Preregister and Pay:  Class Fee $45.00 + Material Fee $5.00 = $50.00 -- Walk-ins Pay:  Class Fee $45.00 + Material Fee $5.00 = $60.00  (Registration will charge the discounted price up until the day of the class.)

Class Length:  3 hours 

Maximum Class Size: 6

Materials Included:  knitting needles and yarn with which to practice and keep. 

Materials to bring:  Students must provide their own magnification, extra lighting and extension cord if these are generally needed when crafting.

Recommended Ages:  Not recommended for under 16.
